Solid Horizon Business Practices Continue to adhere to new construction SOP by CIDB
KLANG (18 Jan 2021) – Even before the implementation of the second Movement Control Order (MCO), Solid Horizon Sdn Bhd has made sure its employees, corporate governance and business practices adhere to the strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) post Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a spokesperson from Solid Horizon, they have made arrangements since the first MCO to follow SOPS that were set by both CIDB and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM). “The current practices that we apply in our day-to-day business operations follow the SOPs that were set by CIDB and KKM. These include recording temperatures, scanning the MySejahtera QR code, providing hand sanitizers, enforcing the wearing of face masks on company premises and conducting serologic or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests every two weeks for on-site personnel,” Solid Horizon said.
Solid Horizon mentions that the changes to their business practices are mainly for procedures and working methods but it does become challenging from time to time.
“KKM is currently trying to control or monitor the movement of the rakyat during these difficult times. We try to make their work easier by helping them monitor the movement of our employees on site and off site. We make sure we know where our employees go, who they meet, how many people they have in their house, where their housemates (if any) work and so on,” the Company said.
It added, “Additionally, we restrict the number of team members in all areas of our business and office. For example, our cold water team used to operate at a six person capacity, we minimize it to three people per area while implementing social distancing as per the guidelines set by KKM.”
In terms of how challenging the new SOPs are, Solid Horizon mentions that it was difficult at first, but they managed to adapt to it as time went by.
“During the first stage of the MCO, it was quite challenging. But as time went by, we slowly learnt to blend our business practices, adapt to the SOPs and apply it better to our company’s working environment.
Solid Horizon also mentioned that they will continue to adapt these new practices even after the MCO.
“We will definitely continue to adapt these new SOPs to our business practices even after the MCO has been lifted. We feel that these practices are good and make the working environment safer. Even if we have a vaccine, we will continue to apply these SOPs at the office and work area,” Solid Horizon said.
The Company concluded, “Our business practices are better with the implementation of these SOPs and we will heavily consider keeping them even after the Covid-19 pandemic is over.
